BC Financial Aid and Scholarships

Be sure to visit the Financial Aid website for important announcements about Grants and Scholarships. Also, remember to apply for Federal Student Aid at the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Study Skills, Aid & Services

Bakersfield College provides resources and support for students. The following are some resources available to you, as a BC student, for improving your education. Make the most of your time at college by utilizing some of these resources.

Habits of Mind

This site is home of the Bakersfield College Habits of Mind Initiative. The Habits of Mind siteincludes information about the initiative and resources for students. “It’s POSSIBLE at Bakersfield College!”

Writing Center

Help is available for any writing project. Visit the Writing Center in Student Services Building Room 113 or the Bakersfield College Writing Center web sites, for more information.

Tutoring Center

If you are struggling with a subject, there is help to make you successful. BC has a center specifically for tutoring. For information visit them at their location, CSS 203, or visit the BC Tutoring site for more information.

The Jerry Ludeke Learning Center

The Jerry Ludeke Learning Center, located in the Center for Student Success Building (CSS), offers classes, study‐skills courses, basic skills computer lab, proofreading services and workshops for students. Critical Academic Skills (CAS) Workshops are free at the Main and Delano campuses and teach math, attacking word problems, test taking strategies, and all that jazz. See more of what they offer at Jerry Ludeke Learning Center. Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSPS)

Child Development Center

The BC Child Development Center offers child care for ages 2 to 5 years old and has a Preschool Program for children ages 3 to 5 years old. For details and application visit BC Child Development Center site or call (661) 395‐4369.
